2007 Year End Update Posted by: AJAX - 01/01/08

First let me say that 2007 was the shit! We started the year with a mini tour with Afroman and then kicked off the Tour of Life with Anybody Killa on 4/20 and that was definitely a night to remember! To be honest the first 6 months of 2007 I was balls to the wall trying to finish Out of Body/Out of Mind. In the end we had it ready before we hit the road with ABK and our homie Flagrant in June. The Tour of Life was amazing and definitely an experience where we grew a lot musically as well as personally. It also gave us chance to see some of the country that we hadn’t seen before which made it sort of like a vacation which was definitely needed. The fans were amazing and we met a lot of great people while we were on the road, we can’t wait to do it again! We also had a great crew of people with us. It was Native World and the Purple Hash Click, which is always a good combination. When we got back to Michigan from being on the road it took a minute to get back into the swing of things. Once we got back home Psychopathic Records asked us to play their annual Gathering of the Juggalos, which was quite the invitation. It was a real honor getting to share the stage with such talented artists. We had a ton of positive energy that weekend and hope to do it again. Not only did they have great music all weekend it was also a chance to party all weekend long in the middle of nowhere.

During our adventurous summer we released Out of Body/Out of Mind. Out of Body/Out of Mind was a very meaningful album for me. It was a chance for me to show people how I’ve grown since Mainstream Pollution. I took my time on it but had to rush it at the same time to meet our deadline. What was really great about this album is I got a chance to work with some different and very talented producers. Fritz the Cat, Charlie Beans, and Dramadeus all killed it with their production and input to help build this album. Also our homie ABK spit some flavor on “By Any Means”. Not only was I musically happy with the release I also loved how the artwork turned out. Much love to Brian over at Hi End Designs for hooking that up!

Speaking of new music, Mainstream Pollution Chapter 2 is the next big project I’m focused on right now. I have very high expectations for this album. I’m taking my dear sweet time on this one to make sure it’s perfect. Right now we’re looking at a late summer release, hopefully we can make that happen. I’ll be pumping out new music before that though. We will probably release another EP or something before we drop the album. I’m working with a lot of the same producers but will probably have some new ones as well. I’m definitely going to have some of my own work on there as well. Nothing has been recorded yet but I’ve got lots of beats I’m going through right now. I’m just getting in my zone right now because nows the time I need to strap down and bleed some new tracks out. On some real shit my mind is more clouded than ever because of life’s lessons. At the same time though I’m more focused than I’ve ever been. You’ll see what I mean once you hear it. I’m actually going to be doing a lot of this album with my mentor Rick Young so I’m very pumped to take it back to my roots and make a real project with Rick. Some of you may remember Rick from my first release Enemy of Society as well as Mainstream Pollution. I’m just really excited to begin the recording process. We’ll keep everybody updated on the progress of the album as it’s being put together.

We had some great shows to end the year as well. The two that stand out were the Detroit Warrior party in Jackson, MI and our 2nd annual Purple Hash Bash. We’re already in talks and trying to get things worked out for this years Purple Hash Bash so keep an eye out for that! To begin the new year we’re going to be performing with our road dog ABK on some select dates on the Regulate in 08 tour. Check out the show section for a complete list of dates. If you haven’t heard yet we’re featured in the newest issues of Murder Dog Magazine and High Times Magazine so go to your local magazine stand and pick those up now! Much love to those publications for showing Purple Hash love! I’d also like to tell all of my people and all of my supporters that I love you all on the real. We’re about to do this shit! Happy new year!
